Version 2 Released

What's New in GPhil v2

Now offered in Lite and Pro tiers. Lite includes unlimited access to the GPhil library and all the core functionality from v1. Pro adds four tools:

  1. In-app PDF score viewer
  2. Tempo and volume curves, in-section loop segment
  3. Record, replay, and export practice sessions
  4. Orchestral layers

Feature 1

In-App PDF Score Viewer

Open the full or piano PDF score directly inside Practice. Set a default PDF per score, and practice without leaving the app.

  • Use your own score PDF for any piece.
  • Cue markers connect playback sections to score positions (must be created or imported first).

Feature 2

Recording and Replay Sessions

Capture sessions with exact timing so you can replay, export, or automate page turns in any score. Great for repeatable rehearsal and performance prep.

  • Record full takes with audio or use lightweight events-only mode.
  • Replay reproduces section changes, transitions, and page turns.
  • Export recordings on the new Recordings page — with or without user audio.

Feature 3

Tempo & Volume Curves / Loop Segment

Shape timing and dynamics inside each section instead of relying on one baked-in value. Build phrasing that matches your taste and interpretation. Slow-down and speed-up ratios are limited to ±50% of the original tempo to avoid heavy audio-quality degradation.

  • Edit tempo and volume curves independently per section.
  • Set the loop segment to define a custom area for focused practice.

Feature 4

Orchestral Layers Mixer

In selected scores, control strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion separately. Adjust, mute, or rebalance groups to match real ensemble conditions.

  • Available in selected scores, mostly classical concertos.
  • Compensate for missing live groups by enabling only the layers you need.
  • Useful for reduced-orchestra setups, with GPhil covering the remaining groups.

What Musicians Are Saying

Hear from fellow musicians who have transformed their practice and performance with G-Phil

A Game Changer!

Absolutely one of the best creations for musicians! Gphil uses advanced sampling technology that captures the nuances of each instrument, allowing musicians to practice and perform with a virtual orchestra without the need for actual musicians. It's a game-changer! A page-turner pedal, a good speaker, and a laptop are all you need to play your favorite concertos.

Brilliant!

Our discovery of Gphil marked a turning point in our daughter's musical journey! As a passionate young pianist, she has always dreamed of playing with a full orchestra, which is typically not an option for an amateur pianist.

A Miraculous Achievement

For me, there is nothing in the world quite like playing a romantic concerto with an orchestra. Unfortunately, I'm not Sokolov - for me those chances only come a couple times a decade. Until now! This app is honestly my dream app. I wanted something like this so much that I started scoring concertos line by painstaking line Logic Pro to be able to play along with them, but G-Phil is on a completely different level. The variety, quality, and flexibility of the orchestra is astounding - the samples used are state of the art and they are scored by a MUSICIAN not just a programmer. This app plays MUSIC and inspires you to create music of your own to match it.

A must-have app for all musicians, whether for professional performance or advanced amateurs learning concerto works.
